About the Choir

“Singing Makes You Feel Good!” That’s our motto, and every Tuesday evening the members of Tottenham Community Choir put their hearts, souls, and voice boxes into feeling good. We sing a wide selection of music from many countries and many genres, and have lots of opportunities to sing in a real range of venues and interesting events through the year as well as our regular Tuesday evening rehearsals.

When we learn pieces, we generally (although not always) begin learning from sheet music, but we aim to enable singers with all levels of musical experience to achieve their best and really find the pleasure of singing within a large group of people. In 2012 the choir decided that all our public performances would be sung without sheet music wherever possible. Whilst at first this can be a challenge for some of us, it has really transformed the choir and the sound it makes. Our strength comes from our unity, and singing without sheet music is an entirely different experience. It makes us more whole, more responsive, and more together. It has become a real part of what makes TCC unique as a community choir.

Nicki Williamson, Musical Director Tottenham Community Choir

The choir is split into four  vocal parts; Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass (SATB).  Don't worry if you're not sure which part you voice is best suited to - just have a seat and join
in the warm up!  Nicki is always happy to help you decide where you are most comfortable singing.

Guest copies of music scores are available.
